Frequently Asked Questions

A structured, high-expectation learning environment

At BrightPath Maths Academy, we provide structured mathematics programs designed to build confidence, deepen understanding, and extend students beyond the classroom curriculum. Below are answers to common questions from families.

Enrolment & Placement

How do I enrol my child?
Enrolments are completed through our online registration form. Once submitted, families receive confirmation along with class placement details, term structure, and payment information.

Do you accept mid-term enrolments?
Yes, where places are available. Students entering mid-term are carefully placed into suitable classes to ensure continuity of learning and alignment with their current level.

How are students placed into classes?
Students are grouped according to year level, current achievement, and learning needs. This ensures each student is appropriately challenged while receiving targeted support.

Fees & Term Structure

What are your fees?
Fees vary depending on year level and program structure. Full fee schedules are provided upon enquiry or during enrolment.

When is payment required?
All fees are payable prior to the commencement of each term unless an alternative arrangement has been approved in advance.

Do you offer payment flexibility?
Yes. Structured payment plans may be available for families requiring instalment arrangements. Please contact us prior to enrolment to discuss options.

Are refunds provided?
Once a term has commenced, fees are non-refundable. This includes absences due to illness, travel, or personal circumstances.

Attendance & Lesson Delivery

What happens if my child misses a lesson?
As lessons follow a structured sequence, missed sessions cannot be refunded or routinely rescheduled. Where appropriate, supporting materials may be provided to assist students in catching up.

Are make-up classes available?
We are unable to offer make-up classes for missed sessions.

What if my child will be absent for an extended period?
We encourage families to contact us directly so we can provide guidance on how best to support continuity of learning.

Learning Expectations & Homework

Is homework part of the program?
Yes. Homework is an essential component of our program and is designed to consolidate and extend classroom learning.

How much homework is expected?
Students should expect approximately 60–90 minutes per week, depending on year level and program placement.

What if homework is not completed?
Consistent completion of homework is expected. Where this becomes an issue, we will communicate with families to support the student in re-establishing positive learning habits.

Class Structure & Teaching Approach

How large are your classes?
Classes are intentionally kept small, typically 10–15 students, to ensure individualised attention and meaningful teacher interaction.

What approach to teaching do you use?
Brightpath uses a structured Gap–Fix–Extend–Review approach that builds confidence through explicit teaching, targeted practice, and regular review. Our programs are structured and aligned to curriculum outcomes, with a strong emphasis on mastery, problem-solving, and extension.

Do you cater for advanced learners?
Yes. Students demonstrating strong capability are provided with extension tasks designed to deepen understanding and encourage higher-order thinking.

Communication & Progress

How do you communicate with parents?
We maintain ongoing communication with families regarding student progress, engagement, and development where appropriate.

Can I discuss my child’s progress?
Yes. Families are welcome to request a conversation at any stage. We value open communication and collaborative support.

Referrals & Enrolment Incentives

Do you offer a referral program?
Yes. Families who refer a new student will receive a $50 credit once the referred enrolment is confirmed and term payment has been completed.

Do you offer sibling discounts?
Yes. Reduced fees are available for additional siblings enrolled within the academy.

Policies & Expectations

What are your behaviour expectations?
We maintain a focused, respectful learning environment. Students are expected to engage positively and contribute to a culture of learning.

How is behaviour managed?
Where concerns arise, we work closely with students and families to support positive engagement and ensure minimal disruption to learning.

Do you run classes during school holidays?
Our core programs operate during school terms. Additional holiday workshops or revision sessions may be offered periodically.
